Ooh AhH Anchors AweiGH

ANCHORS AWEIGH
Thank you Toltec & Suburban Girl Beads
for hosting this design challenge.

I will say that I have been so excited to be able to participate in yet another design challenge & blog hop.  As many other past challenges I set out many times to design and come up with something different and original.  Many times I "cruised" pinterest for inspiration.  This evening, Saturday, September 6th I'm burning both ends of the candle.  I set out to make a ring.  I tend to peyote my bezels quite tight.  So at 9:00pm PST I unfortunately got a full blown anxiety attack & hot flash.  Uhh, like I needed this NOW?!  So then I'm calling Heather Richter one of my life lines for support.  She was the best.  I ended up scrapping working on beading a bezel and she suggested I do the wire wrapping of the charms with half round copper wire around some gear frames to make a simple pair of earrings.  We've all been there.  For me I was set out to make a simple ring from a you tube video that I came across today & ended up with a pair of earrings.  LOL!

Here you can see that on the right one, I cut the loop off to do the peyote bezel.

Here are my earrings, you can see that I ended up cutting off the other loop.
Please take the time to visit all the participants in this blog hop challenge.  Get inspired to create something different or use a new element in your next design.

  3. What a great idea for the earrings. Very unique. The way the wire is attaching the charms to the gears makes me think of barnacles attaching to the hull of a ship. Wonderful earrings.

  5. The gear elements were a GREAT addition to these luscious charms, Kathleen... so original and edgy, too! Too bad you were overwhelmed by the deadline (happens to me all the time) but a friend in need, etc. :)
